The Advantages of Home Gym Flooring

Gym flooring for home isn't your traditional flooring. Hardwood flooring, ceramic tiles, cement, and other traditional home flooring options can easily crack under pressure when dumbbells or barbells are dropped on them. Not to mention, a cold bare hard floor is pretty uncomfortable too. That's why you need flooring that's designed to stand the wear and tear of intense workouts and heavy equipment.

Here are the advantages of going with the rubber home gym flooring option:

    • Durable

    • Easy to install

    • Provides shock absorption

    • Easy to clean and maintain

    • Provides traction to prevent injuries

    • Water-resistant

    • Absorbs sound

    Our Recommendations

We offer home gym flooring for any type of workout, no matter how intense. One of the most important decisions you have to make when buying your floor is picking out the thickness. The thickness that you need will depend on the type of workout that you plan on doing.

Home Gym Tiles for Lightweight Workouts

Tiles are a great option for home gyms. They are ridiculously easy to install, and you still get the durable flooring that comes with choosing a rubber floor.

If you just plan on using light weights, then there's really no point in spending a ton of money on extra-thick flooring. The 1/3", 8mm, and foam tiles would be a great option for lightweights and floor workouts. You would still get high-quality gym flooring without having to break the bank.

Home Gym Tiles for Hardcore Workouts

If you're serious about your workouts, then you need a tile that provides serious protection.

Believe it or not, you don't need the thickest floor option out there for hardcore workouts. Anything from 8mm rubber tiles and up will do the trick.

If you plan on using heavy barbells and heavy equipment like treadmills, then it's best to use rubber over foam.

Home Gym Rubber Roll for Lightweight Workouts

While rubber rolls are another easy installation, they require a little more planning because they are pretty heavy. So, you may need a friend to come over and lend you a hand on installation day.

Rolls are a popular choice for home gyms because they tend to be a little cheaper. ¼" and 8mm rubber rolls are a great option for workouts with light weights. With this option, you'll get high-quality flooring with superior protection that will last for years to come.

Home Gym Rubber Roll for Hardcore Workouts

Rubber rolls are excellent for covering a large space. And even the toughest workouts are no match for this durable flooring. The good news is, you don't have to go the thickest option out there to get the best protection either. You can go up to 1" for ultimate protection, but 8mm will also give you the comfort you need for your floor and joints during those hardcore workouts in your home gym.

    Home Gym Flooring Mats

If you don't have an entire room to dedicate to your gym, don't worry! You can easily use a home gym mat flooring to create an area to get your workout in. These mats are portable, so you can throw them down where you need to exercise and store them away when you aren't using them. You can also use them to slide under your treadmill to protect your subfloor.

    Garage Gym

The same flooring that works in basements works great in garages too. However, both areas have cold, hard cement flooring, which isn’t comfortable to workout on. Home gym flooring for the garage and basements will add a layer of cushion and provide thermal protection for the best comfort.

Interlocking tiles and mats are great for garages, because you can take them out when you need to use them and store them away when you need to use your garage for something else other than exercise.
